Organic and Fair Trade coffee
Bird Rock Coffee Roasters was the first San Diego roaster with a CA wholesale license to sell 100% organic and Fair Trade coffee when we opened in 2002. Since that time, we have evolved as a company to offer more direct trade and responsibly grown coffee with an emphasis on paying farmers more for their crop than they would get through normal coffee trade. The vast majority of our coffee is still certified organic or grown without chemicals or pesticides.
Since “organic” doesn’t automatically mean “good coffee”, we sample hundreds of organic beans each year to find those that meet our standards.
