The Geisha is a rare coffee bean varietal known for its delicate, sweet, refined flavor. Since 2002, The Peterson family has been producing some of the most exquisite Geisha coffee available at their farm located on the slopes of Mount Baru in Western Panama. Because of the bean’s scarcity, however, all of La Esmeralda’s Geisha is sold via an on-line auction once a year. This year, we selected lot “Mario San Jose”, from an area at the farm known for producing the very best each year. If you are expecting a “typical” coffee experience, you will be disappointed as this is closer to an exotic tea than coffee: heavy jasmine aroma, candied orange, honey, lemon, flavors that rarely combine in a cup of coffee. This is a delicate, elegant, and very exclusive coffee.
